You've heard it all before --
Wash your hands...
Build strong relationships...
Never go in against a Sicilian when death is on the line...
All that jazz.
I'm here to talk about one of those things (and it's not how to build up an immunity to iocane powder).
It's about relationships.
The worst relationships are the ones where people just show up when they want something and take off right after.
The best relationships are the ones that bring value to both parties.
Hello, donuts, movie marathons, and mutual respect.
Too many marketers suggest the "churn" strategy -- make the quick sale or move on...
I'm gonna guess if you're here, on my list, that's not quite your speed.
Instead, show up and ask one simple question, "how can I help the people in my business today?"
Is it advice?
A new service you're rolling out to achieve great results?
Some new training or podcast that can open someone's mind?
This strategy doesn't mean you never pitch anything.
Every business is an exchange of value. Every relationship.
So long as you can stand your ground as the lighthouse that you are and continue to shine a light a path to results…
You're golden.
This type of consistent relationship within your business can look like:
> Podcast episodes outlining the best mindset for a service
> Social media posts that cause reflection and engagement
> Emails that educate and entertain
> Youtube videos that teach new skills
> Etc. Etc.
You need some way to reach your audience and deliver your message.
My suggestion: choose one way to reach your audience and stick with it for a while.
Expand as you're able to remain consistent.
This peacefully builds a relationship over time.
Sure, you might have some people who want to dive deeper with you right away.
But a majority of new business relationships take an average of 4-6 weeks to really mature to that point.
If you cut your ties and never invest in nurturing your audience, you're gonna have a *really* hard time making sales in your business.
Action point:
> Choose one nurturing strategy.
> Commit to a level of consistency.
> Ask yourself one question: how can I help the people in my business today?
Be a lighthouse.
Not a racoon.
Until next time,
Kim Jacobson, the "buy-and-hold" Webinar Lady
